Message from the Principal

Welcome to ISSR Primary School

At ISSR, we are extremely proud of what we have achieved since the school opened in 2007. The children are at the heart of everything we plan, design and achieve. Therefore, as a team, we are always working towards providing them with opportunities to shine in a range of skills and activities and to achieve their full potential in a safe, happy and supportive environment.  We are continuously growing and developing as a school and our goal is always to strive to achieve the best we can in all that we do.

The driving force of our school is our teachers, support staff and administrative team who, on a daily basis, help our school to continue to grow and become the success it is today. Their hard work and dedication is a huge asset and one we are truly thankful for. We feel extremely proud and lucky to have a team of people who are so dedicated, not only to their career but also to our school. Their commitment to providing the best experience for the children is incredibly valuable to us.

Our school motto ‘we are one but we are many’ reflects the diverse nature of our community. It reinforces our values of celebrating and respecting individuality as well as recognizing that together we can achieve more.

Our school community is dedicated to providing all our students with a well-rounded educational experience. The British Curriculum we offer enables us to provide a current, relevant and engaging programme where the children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and realise they are only on the starting steps of becoming life long, independent and successful learners. Literacy and Numeracy are priority curriculum areas and have dedicated teaching times each day. Our students also have access to a variety of specialist curriculum areas, including Physical Education, Computing, Music and Language.

We also believe that alongside the core curriculum it is important to provide leadership opportunities, character education and exposure to technologies in order to prepare students to compete with their global peers. We have developed a house system, school council, green team and both inhouse and multi-school sports days in order to allow each child in the school to grow and develop as an individual who is part of a wider, supportive community and not just academically.

We have a school culture that values uniqueness and encourages ownership and self-awareness so that we can build a community that respects others and also accepts responsibility for actions. We are committed to building a community that works together in harmony with respect and understanding for each other.

Apart from providing the best education possible we also believe that, as an international school of our standard, we should provide our students with a great infrastructure. This is why we have recently built a new school which includes 34 classrooms, a playground, lunch area, football pitch, basketball court, ICT suite, music room and a full size swimming pool. At the heart of this is a great responsibility to ensure each child is safe and secure. For this reason, we have developed the most recent procedures to ensure the safety of all children in our care and we keep up to date with this regularly.

At ISSR, we also understand that parents and carers should also enjoy their experience with us. Regular communication with parents and the wider community is extremely important to us and our teachers are always available to discuss any aspect of each child in our care. As principal I employ an open door policy, not just for our team but for parents and carers too.
We are one, but we are many.
