This experiment should be carried out in a fume cupboard to limit the release of sulfur dioxide. If the upper temperature is limited (use ice to obtain a couple of lower than room temperature values) and the lab is well-ventilated the experiment can be carried out in the open lab.
This is a simple experiment which gives good results and useful practice in data handling and graph drawing.
