AS Unit 3 and A2 Unit 6
These units are worth 20% of the AS Level and 20% of the A2 level and will be internally assessed. You will be assessed in four areas:
a) General Practical Competence
b) Qualitative Observation
c) Quantitative Measurement
d) Preparation
You may be assessed on components (b), (c) and (d) separately or you may combine components (c) and (d) in a multi-stage experiment. If you follow the multi-stage route, then experiment 5.4.3f would be a typical example involving all the techniques you are likely to meet.
You can find more details in the Edexcel specification here.
