Reactions of group 2 hydroxides with water

In this experiment we add water to small samples of Group 2 oxides and test the pH of the resulting solution. We then see if any further change occurs on adding dilute hydrochloric acid. Watch the video and make notes of your observations. Try to explain what you see and write balanced equations for any reactions.
