If you don't have good fume cupboard access these reactions can be done as a demonstration. With reasonable access to fume cupboards the group can always be split in two and the practical carried out over two classes with some theory work for half the class.

*made by soaking strips in a mixture of equal volumes of 0.1M potassium dichromate solution and 1M sulfuric acid
