Reactions of concentrated sulfuric acid with halides

In this sequence of reactions we take some solid potassium halides and react them with concentrated sulfuric acid. Watch the video and try to identify as many products as possible. A number of chemical tests have been used to identify the gaseous products. Try to write a balanced equation for the reaction between the potassium chloride and the acid. What are the coloured products formed in the reactions with the bromide and the iodide and how have they been formed? Check your answers using the link below.
